A few years ago, I was going through a trying time and decided to see if there were any online college degrees I could take. At the time, I was working full-time as a sales representative for a major corporation, and the prospect of going back to school was too daunting for me. I had no idea what I would be able to do to earn any type of degree. However, I did know that I wanted to have a college degree, so I thought I should give online college degrees a try.
I got a great introduction to the online college degrees by looking through a good e-book. It took me about two weeks to finish the book, and it helped me figure out all the different programs I was going to need to start applying for. It really was one of the best investments I've ever made, because I was able to put together enough money to pay for my first semester of classes. When I found out I was accepted into an online business school I thought it was one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life.
Since then, I've been looking around for online college degrees that were in line with the requirements of the school I was attending. One of the programs I was interested in was the nursing programs, which I thought would be difficult for me to pursue. However, I was surprised when I learned I could get a bachelors of science in nursing without a class on the Internet, and I quickly enrolled.
During the time I was trying to find online college degrees, I also noticed there were some jobs that required some type of advanced degree, and I was interested in that too. I applied for a position as a hospital administrative assistant, which is an entry-level position. The requirement for this position was a four-year degree program, but I was able to get that too, and I eventually landed a job right after I graduated from my online college degree program.
After about three months of being employed, I was given a notice that the hospital where I worked was going to make the announcement that they were going to be closing their clinic down, and they needed someone to help them out with some medical paperwork. I was able to apply for this position, and I landed it. At the time, I was still very happy with the opportunity that was presented to me, and I honestly didn't think it would ever happen again.
About a year later, when I was finishing up with my online degree program, I was contacted by the hospital again to see if I wanted to go on to train as a registered nurse for the new doctor who was coming in to take over the health care industry. This was quite a shocker, because I had only applied for the position for the original reason. I was definitely thrilled to get this call, because I got the opportunity to work for a great doctor.
All I'm saying is that I was lucky, because I was able to choose a job that was an entry-level position, and it gave me a chance to acquire a degree in nursing. While it may seem like it would be better to start a business, I was more interested in doing something that would allow me to actually help people. I was happy that I was able to find employment in the health care industry after a year or so of hard work, and I am now actively working to help other people out.
Hopefully these online college degrees will help you get to your goal of earning your degree. You will have a much better chance of getting the education you need by taking advantage of the best resources available today.
